Flirty Undies for C-Section Moms

With all the joy new moms experience upon the birth of a child, the pain quickly becomes a distant memory. But when you have a C-section, that pain can often linger for longer than you'd like. With more than 30% of women in the US having C-sections, there are a lot of mamas out there who find it uncomfortable getting dressed and having anything rub against their delicate scar post-surgery.

Czela Bellies are made just for C-section moms. These fun and flirty boy shorts were designed by a mom who had multiple C-sections, and knows just what moms need to make wearing underwear (and anything with a waistband) more comfortable after surgery. The waistband is lightly padded with the most luxuriously soft cotton velour, creating a barrier between your tender skin and the waistband of your pants or skirt, and giving your incisions much needed protection.

Designer Jennifer Bourgoyne created Czela Bellies not only to feel good against a mom's skin post-surgery, but also to give moms a bit of a pick-me-up. With her chic fabric choices of leopard prints, flowers and hearts, these are designed with a sense of fun that moms can appreciate.

Available for $27 each from Czela Bellies. For LA mamas, you can find them at the Pump Station.
Win a Pair of Czela Bellies
We're giving away one pair of Czela Bellies in a lovely pink print, size Large. To enter, simply comment on this post and tell us what would have made you more comfortable after your C-section. If you haven't had one yet, just leave a general comment. Deadline is Midnight, EST, March 3. The winner will be listed at PRIZEY Winners.

The only thing that would have made me feel better after my 2 C-sections was just this - underwear that didn't hurt, cut into my incision and just basically made life difficult. I did use all the ugly web-like stretch undies they gave me at the hospital. Those were just ugly! I am gearing up for #3! Gotta get me some of these!

    I would have loved comfort!
Easier shoes to put on, bra, etc. It's nice to wear a nightgown, but you can't wear that everywhere you go, it would be nice to find something that doesn't make you feel 80 years old!

    Cute undies!

What I used to help after the c-section was wearing one of those shapewear midsection/underwear; that would help control that feeling that all your inerds are hanging out.

I am scheduled for c-section #2 in 6 weeks and would love these. I definitely could have used more comfortable clothes (cotton, breathable, loose) after c-section #1!

And I thought the webbed undies they gave me in the hospital after my c-section were great. These are certainly a step up fashion wise and would've made me feel a lot less like my c-section friendly "lingerie" was purchased in the hospital once I got home.

I will have a second c-section soon. With my first the abdominal binder they gave me really helped. My underwear were not comfortable but they let me take home extra mesh panties (I had connections)and those were comfortable.

Not having any pressure against the scar, from undies, jeans, pants or anything...I wore stretch baggy pants everywhere for months.

Bending over the crib is still sometimes painful, now almost a year after my C.

These are awesome! And will probably be just as useful after the next baby!

I would have /loved/ to have had a pair of these when I had either of my two C-Sections. DH and I have recently been discussing maybe having another, at some point, and if we do, it's gonna be sooner or later, and it's pretty much a given that I'll have another C-Section this time around too. I will definitely be wanting some of these for then.

What would have made me more comfortable? How about not having a baby to take care of after major surgery? I love the babe now more than anything, but imagine if you had major surgery and someone said to you when you woke up "here, take this little helpless person" instead of "here's some morphine, a good book, and some really bad t.v...."

Oh man.. The only thing that made me feel better as weird as it is was to walk walk walk.. within hours of my surgery at the protest of my nurses I was making laps around the OB.. sitting down or sitting still too long was agony when I tried to move again. I also got a gift of a tight band that went around my stomach from one of the nurses.. and it was FABULOUS. Otherwise I just recommend moving and gently stretching all you can.. it hurts at first but moving really does help keep the incision and scar from tightening up which is where most people experience pain. I had a bit of a rushed csection due to some really unsusal circumstances and my incision was not as clean as it could have been (scar wise) and I still have some pain associated with it (10 months later) though my scar should have been very very bad.. its actually very small in comparison to what it should have ended up as... all my doctors contribute that to my activity level after surgery (not that I at ALL recommend running a marathon.. but gentle SLOW walking is wonderful..)

    I blogged you too

These undies were given to a friend at work and she absolutely raved about them. She said that in addition to the physical comfort they gave her, it gave her a mental boost to see how cute she looked after all the invasive surgery she had to endure. Now that my daughter has been told she will have to have a C-section (which we did not expect) - and soon - we can't wait to order her some. I need to know how to do it. There are lots of things for the baby, but it's nice to know there is something just for the mom now. This is giving her something positive to look forward to in this somewhat scary planned surgery. Thanks, Ms. Bourgoyne, for trying to help our girls get through this uncomfortable process.

    Signed: A grateful mom

Honestly, I didn't want anything rubbing against the incision because it was so painful. I also liked having support as it made it easier to move around.

These look fab and since I'll be having c sections for the rest of our future babies I'll have to get some!

These are the best idea ever. I broke down and bought granny underwear because even months post-op I still couldn't stand the rubbing of the waistband around my incision area. Now I am gearing up for c-section #3 and these just made it to the top of my list.

I am going to have a C-Section tomorrow and I found this great website tonight! :) I ordered two pair of these just now - but would love to have a third pair so that I don't have to do laundry every second day during my recovery! These undies are the cutest and look the comfiest - and they are from California - my home state (I now live in Montana)!

  • At 1:26 PM, Blogger b-love said…

These undies are the cutest! I just had my 2nd c-section three weeks ago and am still feeling a bit of pain around my incision. I hate the way "granny panties" look under my clothes, but all my other underwear hit right on the incision so I don't have much of a choice. I would love to win a pair of these cute underwear. I plan on more children, which means more c-sections. If I like the "free pair", I will definitely buy more and replace all these ugly and oversized granny panties I have in my drawer.

P.S. I'm using my husband's blogger account hence the name and picture ;o)
