In our house, a new DVD doesn't go undiscovered for long. When we received our review copy of Bob the Builder - Building Bobland Bay
, my daughter spotted it the second she walked in the door. She loves TV and movies. And Bob the Builder? Well, she's become a big fan and enjoys learning about how things are built as well as the diverse cast of characters and their adventures. So she and her little brother sat down to watch Building Bobland Bay.My daughter enjoyed the story line - they build a seaside development including a skate park, movie theatre and a lifeguard tower - and the teamwork. When Bob needs a place to sleep during the construction, they work together to find a clever solution for a bed, and all go to sleep happy. There are a few new characters in this DVD that bring a whole new dimension to the cast. Lofty, Dizzy and Tumbler get off to a rocky start, with some hurt feelings, but in the end they are able to overcome their differences and work together towards a common goal. This sends kids a great message, in a format that's easy to understand.
My son loved watching because of all the "beep-beeps", or things with wheels. He's fascinated with bulldozers, cement mixers, trucks, cars and pretty much anything with wheels. And the colorful, claymation-style production is appealing at his age.

My son would love this because he has know all the Bob characters since he could talk, but we rarely get to watch it, since its on PBS early Sunday mornings...(we have yet to get Tivo). My daughter who just started talking can already say "bob builder"...What can I say, they like trucks and their Bob books. A video would make them glow with happiness!

Every Saturday my daughter is allowed to watch cartoons. Her favorite is Bob the Builder. She would enjoy owning her own movie so she doesn't have to wait until Saturady to see it.

I have three boys between the ages of 2 and 7. Need I say more? Even the seven-year old, who is "too big" for "baby" shows like Barney will still watch Bob.
My kids would love this... they are crazy for Bob the Builder and all the talking equipment. It helps teach them how to tinker and problem solve.

My boys love Bob the Builder. They had me put Bob on my husbands birthday cake last week.
My nephew would love this because his daddy builds things for a living too. Cole got a hard hat for his birthday last month and he rarely takes it off.
Some more Bob lovers over here! We have several DVD's, but not this one. We try to catch it on PBS on the weekend, but they only have it on on Sundays now.
There's a fascination with "daddy" size tools, trucks, etc. so Bob the Builder is really popular!

The hammer never leaves his hand. He even sleeps with it. And washes it in the bathtub.

Why would we like it?
All my little ones like Bob the Builder, but it especially works well for my son with autism. You see autistic children have a difficult time learning empathy by reading human faces, but they love to look upon faces on vehicles and other objects. Once they get comfortable with reading those expressions, they find it easier to read human's. Amazing!
