In our house, a new DVD doesn't go undiscovered for long. When we received our review copy of Bob the Builder - Building Bobland Bay, my daughter spotted it the second she walked in the door. She loves TV and movies. And Bob the Builder? Well, she's become a big fan and enjoys learning about how things are built as well as the diverse cast of characters and their adventures. So she and her little brother sat down to watch Building Bobland Bay.

My daughter enjoyed the story line - they build a seaside development including a skate park, movie theatre and a lifeguard tower - and the teamwork. When Bob needs a place to sleep during the construction, they work together to find a clever solution for a bed, and all go to sleep happy. There are a few new characters in this DVD that bring a whole new dimension to the cast. Lofty, Dizzy and Tumbler get off to a rocky start, with some hurt feelings, but in the end they are able to overcome their differences and work together towards a common goal. This sends kids a great message, in a format that's easy to understand.

My son loved watching because of all the "beep-beeps", or things with wheels. He's fascinated with bulldozers, cement mixers, trucks, cars and pretty much anything with wheels. And the colorful, claymation-style production is appealing at his age.

Building Bobland Bay is another successful installment in the Bob the Builder series - one kids can enjoy while learning lessons about teamwork, relationships and life.
