Va-Va-Va-Roomba

This month, in honor of Mother's Day, we want to offer moms a break from cleaning. No, we're not sending a team of hunky men out to vacuum your floor and scrub your toilets (don't we wish!). But we are giving you a chance to win a Roomba 560 from iRobot, that clever creation that does the work so you don't have to.

If you don't know about it by now, the Roomba 560, is an innovative take on the vacuum. What's nice about it is that you just turn it on and let it go. Turn it loose and it cleans your entire floor, as well as under and around furniture. It'll automatically adjust from carpet to hardwoods and back again, and can detect where there's more dirt. With a sensor that helps it avoid stairs and drop-offs, you don't have to worry about it taking a spill.

To use the Roomba 560, you simply press the "clean" button and let it go (oh, if only the rest of the housework were that simple). It'll go from room to room, while making a quiet hum (some moms I know use it as "white noise" to help their babies sleep), and then return itself to its docking station when complete. With anti-tangle technology to keep it from getting caught in cords, carpet or other dangling items, and a "virtual walls" setting to give it parameters, the Roomba 560, is a nice little helping hand.

If a little help around the house is what you need, try a Roomba 560. It'll help keep your floors clean (even with messy kids and pets around) while you relax, or, more likely, take care of the rest of the housework.

Exclusive for One Chic Mama Readers
If you'd like to be entered to win a Roomba 560 ($349.99 value), just leave us a comment and tell us how a Roomba 560 would make a difference in your life. Please note, all comments are moderated and may not appear immediately. The deadline is Midnight EST, May 17.

My home is the "Kool-aid" house. With a 7, 8 and 9 year old, their friends, and the snacks they go through a Roomba would be an absolute lifesaver. I have to vacuum daily to keep up with these guys, and though I would never complain for I love having them and having their friends around, to be able to let the Roomba do it's thing while we're sleeping would be a lifesaver!

This would be a dream come true. I am a teacher, which means I literally work from sunup to way past sundown. I need a little help keeping my house clean while I'm working.

I wanted to buy this one but it's so expensive

There are 7 people in our house: 2 grandparents, 2 parents, 3 kids and a dog. I work full time and do my best to keep up with the mess the kids leave. It would be nice to come home and vacuum, while I'm putting my feet up and resting---or playing with the kids in the back yard.

This would really make my cleaning a lot simpler. I have 3 buldging disc in my back as well as arthritis. The pushing and pulling that mop around really pains me. Winning this would be so wonderful.

It would save so much time! I could use that time to study for my exams or sleep!

I'm a single mother of 5 daughters and I work three other jobs outside of the home. This would so be a blessing to me, because it would free up a little bit of my time to spend with my daughters.

I would love to win this so I could give it to my daughter inlaw. She works 2 jobs, has a teenage son plus a husband along with 3 dogs! The dogs are precious but tend to make messes...I am positive a Roomba would ease her burdens considerably!

I am 6 months away from baby number three. I need some help keeping my floor clean!

Staci said...

My two year old has knack for finding even the tiniest piece of paper in the carpet. She hasn't started walking so she crawls everywhere and I can't vacuum the carpet enough to keep her from finding the concealed tiny things in the carpet. She also throws food like crazy and this would be a whole lot better than sweeping every 5 minutes. I used to have a Roomba, but we used it so much that we wore it to death. It was such a lifesaver, and I really want another one, but we can't afford it. It would be so nice to have a Roomba back in our family.

I am moving into a house with NO carpeting at all ... and I have 3 cats, a dog, and a bunny. I could really use this for all of the fur that will be flying around the house that a regular vacuum cleaner will not pick up!

My little girl is about to crawl...and since she's often face down in the carpet, my mommy guilt has kicked up a notch. I try to stay on it, but "Mr. Roboto" here is sure to do a better job of it!

We would love to have a Roomba! I have a canister vac that is SO hard to haul around, but no $ for a new vacuum right now :-( so vacuuming doesn't get done near often enough! And a friend has a Roomba and the kids LOVE it - they actually play with it and pretend like they're playing tag, it's hilarious. Entertainment and vacuum all in one!

With my 2 year old grandson living with me, messes are EVERYWHERE. He is like a modern day version of Pigpen from Peanuts. He LOVES dirt. Everytime I sweep my dirt into a pile, he walks back and forth through it several times before I can get the dustpan to clean the dirt up. Then I get to sweep again and again until I finally get mad and send him out of the room. A Roomba would be an absolute dream to own.

I've just retired after working over 40 years and don't want to spend all my time cleaning. I want to go out and live it up. This would help me do that. Want to spend time with my dear husband.

I've just retired after working over 40 years and want to spend time with my wonderful husband and enjoy life, finally. The last thing I want is to clean. This would be a wonderful thing to have.

I can spend more time with my hubby, preschooler and dog. I wouldn't have to worry about all the dust bunnies, dog hair and what-not on our hardwood floors.

I envision many golden, happy hours parked in my recliner watching my cats in turn chase the roomba and then let the roomba chase them. Ahhh.

I hate to vacuum. The Roomba would make my life so much easier I'd probably marry it.

How would this make a difference in my life? By cutting down on my 6 hour weekend cleaning so I could spend that time with my kiddos instead. Thanks!

With two dogs and a toddler this would really free up some time! Time we could use to do fun things as a family! Great giveaway!

My beautiful daughter is one and a half months old. This means that vacuuming is about the last thing on my mind right now, but our carpet shows everything! I get especially embarrassed when my perfectionist mother comes over, but a Roomba would eliminate that for me!

the robot could chase after the kid, the dog, and grandma instead of me!

If I had a roomba, I would no longer be embarrassed to find dust bunnies not only under the bed, but under the dining room table, in the corners of rooms, and next to the couch!

How could this change my life? Let me count the ways...
1. 2 kids + 2 adults + 2 cats + 1 dog = LOTS of mess
2. We have a herding dog so chasing around the vacuum for hours would be great exercise
3. It's cool!
4. Less time vacuuming means more time to clean the bathroom, err I mean play outside with the kids.
5. We love gadgets.
Thanks!

My husband has been bugging me to get one of these for awhile, I'm afraid it's just not in our budget now. I think our kitties' fur is irritating his eyes, so it would be nice to have something to take care of the little furrballs on our hardwood floors while we're out on a daily basis. Thanks for the chance to win! (I don't know if my ID connects to my e-mail correctly but it is pposwaps(AT)gmail.com)

I would love to have this. It would greatly increase the odds that the house would be vacuumed.

I am a fulltime care giver for my 78 year old, wheelchair bound mother. Because of the chair, we had to take up all the carpets and dust collects under the beds very quickly. A Roomba would greatly decrease the amount of time I have to spend on my hands and knees dusting the floors.

With 3 very active sons and half the neighborhood playing at my house every day....I really need this. It would save me so much time!!

This would make cleaning time so much easier! My husband and I both work outside the home so cleaning time really eats into our free time to spend with our 2 year old. I would rather be outdoors blowing bubbles with my daughter this summer than indoors vacuuming!!

This would enable me to be able to spend more time with my family. Would love to win this.

My kids drop more food on the floor then they get in their mouths! I clean up after them all day long. This would be awesome!

This would help reduce some of the lower back pain I have from shoving a big vacuum around.

The Roomba would be so helpful to me as I breastfeed my newborn most of my day, chase around a two year old at the same time, take care of toddlers in my house and clean up after my husband.
