Va-Va-Va-Roomba

This month, in honor of Mother's Day, we want to offer moms a break from cleaning. No, we're not sending a team of hunky men out to vacuum your floor and scrub your toilets (don't we wish!). But we are giving you a chance to win a Roomba 560 from iRobot, that clever creation that does the work so you don't have to.

If you don't know about it by now, the Roomba 560, is an innovative take on the vacuum. What's nice about it is that you just turn it on and let it go. Turn it loose and it cleans your entire floor, as well as under and around furniture. It'll automatically adjust from carpet to hardwoods and back again, and can detect where there's more dirt. With a sensor that helps it avoid stairs and drop-offs, you don't have to worry about it taking a spill.

To use the Roomba 560, you simply press the "clean" button and let it go (oh, if only the rest of the housework were that simple). It'll go from room to room, while making a quiet hum (some moms I know use it as "white noise" to help their babies sleep), and then return itself to its docking station when complete. With anti-tangle technology to keep it from getting caught in cords, carpet or other dangling items, and a "virtual walls" setting to give it parameters, the Roomba 560, is a nice little helping hand.

If a little help around the house is what you need, try a Roomba 560. It'll help keep your floors clean (even with messy kids and pets around) while you relax, or, more likely, take care of the rest of the housework.

Exclusive for One Chic Mama Readers
If you'd like to be entered to win a Roomba 560 ($349.99 value), just leave us a comment and tell us how a Roomba 560 would make a difference in your life. Please note, all comments are moderated and may not appear immediately. The deadline is Midnight EST, May 17.

I have 2 shedding dogs! Not to mention 3 kids, a husband, a bird and fish. This sure would be a huge help!

Both of my kids have allergies and I would love to be able to vacuum regularly to remove the allergens. But since I have 2 kids under 3 and a full-time career, I have neither the time nor the energy to drag the vacuum around the house. A roomba would allow me to vacuum while I get some much needed rest!

I can not tell a lie, my children are grown now, but after 12 back surgeries, I sure could use the Roomba to do my vacuming/sweeping for me. It sure would make my life a lot less painful.

I have longed after one of these for some time now... We too have hardwood floors and I spend soooooo much time sweeping. My daughter tries so hard to help, but it ends up taking even longer cuz she just kinda knocks the dirt around, haha. This would free up so much time to do things we BOTH enjoy! I hope I'm lucky... This is so exciting!

The first thing my youngest does when he gets off the bus is come in and take off his shoes -- and I'm constantly afraid that the Playground Police are going to realize that he is slowly but surely smuggling home all the sand that he can carry. I have this mental image of the Roomba crouched longingly at his feet, waiting for a sandy snack...

The Roomba would be pure convenience !! With my 2 year old and baby on his way, the Roomba would give me that extra time to tend to the little one's needs while keeping a clean home !! Talk about a practical need !!

Candie said...

Wow. I can hardly start thinking of how much this would make a difference. Every time I turn around, my floors are needing swept again. I can never seem to catch up. The boys would not know what to think if I did not have to sweep as much (plus it would probably make a new chase toy for the cat and dog).

Debbie said...

I had back surgery and vacumning has been a little harder than it used to be. This would be a life saver as I have a dog that should be naked with as much of her hair that I find all over the house!

One MAJOR untold aspect of living in Florida is how everything grows so much BIGGER here -- luckily, palmetto bugs (the ten-to-twenty-times-larger cousin to the cockroach) are very territorial, so there will usually only be one or two (excruciatingly large, of course) hiding in the garage somewhere.

If I sprinkle a few crumbs in the corner of the garage, and put the Roomba on sentry duty, we could bill the resulting ruckus as "Machine versus Nature: May the Best (??) Win" -- I should be able to sell tickets!!

A roomba would make my kitchen floor clean for once. If it can really detect where the dirt is it will probably never leave my kitchen, because between the two young kids spills, arts and crafts projects and my cooking a lot happens to that poor floor.

Clean floor with no work on my part - now that's life changing and a change I'd love. My bad back and cat hair infested home will love it, too.

The Roomba would be a wonderful addition to our home. Our daughter has an issue with the vacuum cleaner and the noice associated with it. She literally locks herself in her room when it is going. Thus, we rarely are able to vacuum due to how scared she is. This would be a valuable asset so that she is no longer frightened by the noice of a regular vacuum. Thanks for a wonderful giveaway!

I am the neighborhood grandma and my favorite hobby is crafting of all kinds. Therefore, all the neighborhood children come to my house for snacks and crafting. Oh, what a mess they leave behind on the carpets ---they pick up the big pieces, but lots of little pieces of paper and stuff are left behind. This Roomba would solve my problem beautifully since it's hard for me to bend down. It'd pick up everything ------except when they spill the jello.

cme8397 said...

this is my absolute dream gift. I've wanted one for so long it's not even funny. Too bad, they are so expensive. I despise vacuuming and with two little ones and a dog, I am forced to vacuum frequently. I would love to be able to take just one chore off my daily to do list and make life a little easier. I wish we could all win one.

The Roomba would make a huge differance in my life because I work outdoors all day with my husbands landscaping business. I am a mother to a 2 year old chihuahua that sheds so much and will welcome a baby boy in 9 weeks. I am a full time student and HR manager and have so little time to clean. The Roomba will take care of a small but very important part of my daily routine. It will definitely come in handy when the baby is born.

I am an optimist and believe that the mere site of a robot helping around the house will inspire/intrigue my twelve year old. Or...imagine...not only will she want to clean, she will invent something the folds laundry! Then to robot would have done twice the job! ...A girl can dream...

This would make a difference in my life because it would be a great timesaver for me! I have a very large, black, hairy black lab who is in the process of shedding and I'm constantly running the vacuum. It would be nice to sit back and watch how the dog would react to the Roomba...she really hates the vacuum right now. Thanks!

jaydonco1 said...

It will definitely make the home cleaner cause it will be able to get to the hard to reach spots and do it in less time. I like that it can go under furniture and those spots that are hard to get to with an upright, without having to switch to the attachments and so forth.

I've been wanting to get my mom a Roomba for a few years now. In the last couple of years my dad and sister have passed away, leaving her alone in a big house in NC. I live 600 miles away and can't help. Because of her health she can't do too much and the Roomba would be perfect for her home, which is all hardwood floor. So, it would help her out tremendously since she can't sweep herself!!!

A Roomba would make a big difference in my life by enabling me to get hard to reach places like the space under the sofa clean. Plus, I could really use a new vacuum and have always wanted to get a Roomba. It would make the house much cleaner than it is now. This is a great giveaway and I really hope I win. Thanks.

I got little kids running around and I also babysit a lot! So it gets dusty and the roomba would be an efficient solution for me.

How would it make a difference? We have 3 birds... which means seeds scattered all over the floor, and feathers, and dust! As soon as you vacuum/sweep the mess starts all over again. This would be such a big help! Thank you. My e-mail is in my blogger profile.

How would the Va-Va-Va-Roomba change my life? Well, instead spending my time vacuuming I could be outside enjoying the great outdoors, fishing, swimming and excercising to achieve a Va-Va-Va-Voom body.

Please help me keep up with the dogs!!! The new house has sandy soil. Easily carried in and a pain to keep up with.

I have 3 broken vertebra in the middle of my back and the Roomba would be such a relief for me from having to push a sweeper back and forth on the carpet.

I am a caregiver for my 79 yr old stroke victim Dad who is always dropping crumbs and such on the floors.
Three years ago I injured my back trying to lift him after he fell.

My life would be so much easier and less painful with a Roomba because I would not need to bend my bad back to use the dust pan so much anymore.

I certainly need help cleaning my floors and this just might work out pretty well. Thanks!

Seriously, how could having one of these NOT change your daily life? I'd say that beyond taking care of my toddler and cooking, floor care is my other big task-- I have been asking for one!

Let's see. Stick it on the floor and let it go. How could that not change my life!

beige rugs & a black dog don't mix... Every time I finish running the vac, I still pick up hair fuzzies 2 minutes later...

A ROOMBA would clear away all those pencil shavings and eraser crumbs and coffee grounds from all-night painting sessions in my art room.
And if the RooMBA became a self-aware robot, I would make it my agent and have it rolling down the sidewalk talking to galleries for me. LOL

Oh, and my 10 year old could have the Roomba pick up the yellow dust from those Cheetos I know she sneaks into her room.

Nine years ago I broke my knee and even after three surgeries it is still not right. I could sure use a Roomba. My son has one at his house and they really like it.

You mean make a difference in my life or my 7 mo. old that is just beginning to crawl? If I won his digestion system may return to normal because he wouldn't be able to ingest everything that my 2y.o. drops on the floor. It may also entertain him enough that I would be able to get a shower everyday. Thanks!

I would like to win this for my Mom. She is disabled and could really use something like this to clean her house. She doens not have the money to hire a cleaning service and I am so busy I just do not have the time to go over there as often as Id like to vacuum. It would be great!!!

Keith said...

I would like to win for my Mom. She is disabled and cannot vacuum herself and she can not afford a cleaning service. And I myself cannot make it over there enough as I would like to vacuum for me. She could really use this.

Jasmine said...

OMG. I'm a single mom of an infant and well... I do it all. Alllll by myself when I'm home. So if the vacuum cleaner can do its job without me I might actually be able to check more than one thing off my to-do list for saturday chores!
