Va-Va-Va-Roomba

This month, in honor of Mother's Day, we want to offer moms a break from cleaning. No, we're not sending a team of hunky men out to vacuum your floor and scrub your toilets (don't we wish!). But we are giving you a chance to win a Roomba 560 from iRobot, that clever creation that does the work so you don't have to.

If you don't know about it by now, the Roomba 560, is an innovative take on the vacuum. What's nice about it is that you just turn it on and let it go. Turn it loose and it cleans your entire floor, as well as under and around furniture. It'll automatically adjust from carpet to hardwoods and back again, and can detect where there's more dirt. With a sensor that helps it avoid stairs and drop-offs, you don't have to worry about it taking a spill.

To use the Roomba 560, you simply press the "clean" button and let it go (oh, if only the rest of the housework were that simple). It'll go from room to room, while making a quiet hum (some moms I know use it as "white noise" to help their babies sleep), and then return itself to its docking station when complete. With anti-tangle technology to keep it from getting caught in cords, carpet or other dangling items, and a "virtual walls" setting to give it parameters, the Roomba 560, is a nice little helping hand.

If a little help around the house is what you need, try a Roomba 560. It'll help keep your floors clean (even with messy kids and pets around) while you relax, or, more likely, take care of the rest of the housework.

Exclusive for One Chic Mama Readers
If you'd like to be entered to win a Roomba 560 ($349.99 value), just leave us a comment and tell us how a Roomba 560 would make a difference in your life. Please note, all comments are moderated and may not appear immediately. The deadline is Midnight EST, May 17.

I am a new mommy with a house that was recently renovated due to serious water damage when I was pregnant. Now that we have beautiful wood floors all over...this Roomba will let me enjoy my little one instead of cleaning the floors!

I've been looking at this for a while now but my husband is not convinced that this is what we need. This would be such a great present as it seems like I'm always sweeping the floor with my baby girl throwing her food around. I would love to win this as this would be my present! Thanks for the great giveaway!

I've been drooling over the Roomba for quite some time. What a differnce it would make for me to b able to push a button and let the Roomba do all the work getting my floors clean. I could have more time for my family and for getting down on those floors and playing with my dog. Bliss.

Our ranch-style house (all one level aside from the master bed/bath) contains six indoor/outdoor cats, a 4 year old, a 9 month old and a husband who likes to garden and works with wood. I hate vacuuming. This could be a lifesaver for us!

I want to feel like the Jetsons: robots cleaning my house~

Cass said...

Wow! That would save me so much time, which I could then spend with my beautiful children.

Peter Schott said...

Well, the biggest difference would be that our house is vacuumed more often than it is now. Currently we vacuum as often as we remember to pull out the vacuum cleaner. I think there would also be some entertainment value as we could use it to chase kids who come into our house and don't know we have one of these cleaners.

Due to health problems I don't get to vacume as much as I need to. This could literally be a lifesaver, or a dirt slayer. I really need one badly. I could actually have a clean house and then have guest over if I could get a room vacumed every now and then. Thank you so much for such a generous offer!

icylass said...

A Roomba would be a blessing as our vacuum went out recently and I haven't the money to replace it. Plus I'd get a kick out of watching the dog run from it. ;)

mannequin said...

oh Lordy. what a difference it would make!!! Who's bright idea was it to carpet the second floor and leave the first floor hardwood here?
Just moved in an old house and redid everything. I think He was insane when He "laid down the law" that second floor needed to be wall to wall.
I'm the one that lugs the antiquated weighty vacumn upstairs twice a week.
Oh my...what a difference a robot would make!

I would love a Roomba. We have lots of wide open hardwood floors and I need to vacuum constantly (or at least it seems that way!) to counteract the effects of a shedding cat and two children. It would be wonderful to just tell someone "else" to take care of it while I sleep. A Roomba is just the kind of help I could really use around the house.

I'm not normally a multi-tasking type of person, but with the Roomba I could see myself saving time working on another project while I let this wonderful gadget do its thing.

The Roomba would be great for keeping my hardwood floors clear of debris that causes minor scratches in my floor when it attaches to my feet or shoes.

I currently work for a company that services large banners. Because I have to check that they are okay and remove them from there boxes. I have to clean a large living from space of cat hair and dirt before I can roll them out on the floors. It would be great if I could save myself much laboring. If only I could skip this step. A Roomba would be perfect for this!

My toddler makes messes everywhere and I normally have to vacuum two to three times a day.

Wow how would not have their life redefined with a va-va-va-roomba. I could leave my carpeting place because it would be cleaned daily with my special friend.

YES... I have been wanting Roomba since the first one hit the market, I just could not fit in my budget.

Because I have arthritis in my knees and back the Roomba would make my housecleaning much easier.

I am always bringing out the broom after dinner to clean up the mess on the floor. I'd love to have that extra 10 minutes to play with the kids while the Roomba does all the work for me!

I wouldn't feel so guilty letting our toddler daughter play on the floor anymore -- I'm just too tired to clean all the time!

Wow! Having this vacuum would allow me to clean floors more often while freeing up time for other chores. I also have 2 pets and this would take care of the pet dander and hair on the carpet on a daily basis instead of the twice weekly schedule I have now.

I tell you with our household this would be definitely heaven sent.

I'm a mom of 3 who still live at home plus 3 who are adults and have given me 7 gorgeous grandchildren. I own a portrait studio and run a direct sales company where I get to make beautiful jewelry plus teach others to make meaningful heirloom jewelry. Having a roomba would allow me more time to do all the things I love - hang out with my children, grandchildren and love of my life; create beautiful memories in portraits for people all over my city and create and teach others to create heirloom quality jewelry!

This Roomba would free up 1 hour each day for me, which would give me more time to care for my wife.

I have a brand new granddaughter. I own a Chesapeak(dog Hair), and I live on the Beach(sand). I clean floors daily. I could fall in love with this critter!

While Roomba vacuumed, I could relax and spend time with my son or read a book, or do anything else but housework!!!

My knee and back have been giving me a terrible time and I can't stand for very long, which makes it very hard for me to vacuum. This would get my floors clean without me being in pain.

Wow! I can clean the carpet while I'm at the market.

This would help me SO much. With cats it seems like I am always cleaning the floors!

Where could I start!! We have a crazy big hairy dog, and we vacuum every morning and by 7pm, there is hair everywhere. A Roomba would be a wonderful gift in my life.

This would be great for us as my wife has fibro and I arthritis nd we have 5 cats.

Being in a house with 3 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a husband- this would help out ALOT. Right now it's sweep, vacum, then mop.. hardwood floors through the whole house and every little piece of anything seems to show up no matter how many times you do it!

It seems like I should vaccume everyday with the trail of crumbs my son leaves behind (ok, I contribute a few myself...). This Roomba would let me spend more time playing with him, and less time cleaning up after him.

Is this seriously for real?!!! I could never afford it so I hope I hope I win it! I have four boys, including twin one year olds that still eat everything on the floor and I have three sets of stairs and way too much carpet! This thing could LITERALLY save my life!

Sarah said...

First of all the Roomba seems to be the answer to all of our frustrations with vaccum's. We have 2 huge dogs (we do love them) but I swear we vaccum 3 times a week and spend more time fussing with the machine to get it to do even minimal cleaning. WIth a precious little one on the way we would really groove on the idea of letting the Roomba go on it's own to clean our house!

I'm 68 and have a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder. Vacuuming with just my left hand is time-consuming, difficult and exhausting. The Roomba would be a great blessing!

Since I seem to be the only one who ever vacuums what a life saver this would be!

By the time all the rest of the chores are done I don't have time for the floors and the kids have already crashed. I don't want to make noise and wake them so they always get left off the list for the day. This would save my weekends for sure!

Every day I just can't believe how dirty my floors get! I had no idea there was something like this out there. How awesome!

This would definitely come in handy for me. I need to vacuum quite often because of my young daughter and two dogs. I have another baby on the way and won't have as much time to devote to keeping the house clean for awhile.

Oh my gosh, how would it not change my life? I have beautiful new house, and my carpets are always trashed thanks to the locations of all the outdoor entries into the house and it kills me that I have to constantly clean it. To have a roomba to clean it for me would be amazing!

a roomba would be a lifesaver, i have serious back issues and my housework abilities are extremely limited so a roomba would help me out in the worst way:)
thanks a bunch!!

as a work from home mom, my house would be clean, so I may actually know what the baby is eating when she's crawling around on the floor.

Are you kidding? This is the answer! With two furry felines and a large house and not a lot of time.. this would be great!

I am a stay-at-home mom of two toddlers and this would definitely make my life easier. It seems that all I do all day long is sweep our hardwood floors. This would give me more time to enjoy the beautiful summer days with my two children.
