I have a dilemma when it comes to handbags. As a mom, I want something that's durable, has pockets and can handle a leaky sippy cup or spilled snacks and still look great. As a woman who loves fashion (and as an image consultant), I want something that's chic - an investment bag, or something of that ilk. So I struggle. Do I invest in something fabulous that may not make it through a long weekend with the kiddos? Or do I suck it up and sacrifice style for something that will hold up to the perils of childhood?

I'd prefer the tan handbag. I handle the dilemma by lugging around a huge beat up leather purse that is the size of the large Lands End canvas beach tote! I've given up on being chic when I have 2 small kids in tow.

Rosetti is my very favorite bag. I never buy anything but that one because I love the front zipper part that serves as a wallet.

Tan would be my choice for one of these ultra stylish Rosetti bags. I like the added extra of a mini umbrella. You never seem to have an umbrella when you need one. This would not be a problem anymore with a Rosetti bag.

I had a great bag, it was perfect for all my "mommie musts" and looked great! Well that is until my oldest daughter tossed her cookies, so to speak, and ruined my bag. The babe was ok, but the bag couldn't be saved and being a mommie I have not had the time, money or energy to replace it. I love the one in red you posted, but my choice would be black.

Black would be my pick. It doesn't show dirt as quickly and it would go with just about everything. It's I'm going to purchase a high end purse then durability is the most important thing to me and a style that isn't going to be here one day and gone the next. Cheaper purses on the other hand are usually for a quick fix when I need something for a certain outfit and will probably only use a time or two.

They way I handle my handbag dilemma is just to not buy expensive ones anymore! I have a FEW that are a little pricy, put I only use them for special occasions where I KNOW they won't get damaged. And the BIGGER the bag is the BETTER!!
As far as what color I'd like -- my first instinct was to say black, but I already have a TON of black bags! So, I'm going out on a limb and asking for the ONE color I DON'T have -- GOLD!!

Either tan or gold. It depends on the shade of both. I solve my bad problem by using the diaper bag most of the time. When I don't have the kids I throw my stuff in a re-usable shopping bag.

You can't have enough Black handbags!! I too have cookie crumbles and juice spots in the bottom of my purse. I try to not over spend on my purse but still get one that's stylish enough to look like I'm pulling off something great. My current purse is from Kohl's and its lasted me AND I have 3 kids. I like the black one, I tote around a bluejean bag that not attractive. But it holds what I need and the kids and hubby too.
Black of course! That way I can be sure it will go with whatever I chose to wear for every type of occassion.
I would choose red. Surprisingly red goes with alot of different outfits and most of mine. When you carry a red bag it makes you just pop out. I have a red leather bag that I use most of the time and when it just wont go I switch to a black or white one depending on the season.

would use a tan bag - great color for year round. To solve my handbag dilemma, I carry a great tote (currently one by Maddie Deluxe) with lots of interior pockets (along with some added with my purseket) so I have plenty of room for my stuff and hers. I reconcile my handbag dilemmas by hitting the clearance section at Kohl's, Target, etc. I try never to spend more than $10-$15 on a bag so that I don't feel bad when I trade in for a new one or wear one of them out!

Black, it goes w/ almost everything. I always pick bags that I can match with most of my clothes and it has to have room inside w/ many pockets.
I would like a red bag. all of my bags are black so a change up would be nice! I usually research and end up spending a little more for a better quality bag. it's well worth it to have a dependable bag that you know won't fall apart in a month!

Okay...so I'm going to paint the picture...today, I went shopping with my three children and I actually carried my daughters used and rejected Hello Kitty backpack. That's right, I was desperate. Our completely plain and simple (all about function) black diaper bag had a major blow out while on vacation a few weeks ago and I just can not bring myself to buy an actual diaper bag. HELP! Please do not let me go one more day carrying around a Hello Kitty back pack. Thanks so much!

I resolve my handbag dilemma by carrying a classic, rugged,well made leather bag that just looks better the more beat up it gets. Invest alittle more in quality and timeless pices and they wear well. My current one is black because it will never show ink marks or oil stains.

I agree a good bag is hard to find. If I had a choice of colors I would have to go with Red... Red is just hot to me. I consider myself a trendsetter so a red back nice jeans cute top, red accessaries, and some hot red pumps to compliment Me!
I would love one of these in tan. They sound like they hold up well and look sheek. I'm awful when it comes to buying bags. I scour clearance racks, so that I can buy a few without feeling guilty. That way if one gets destroyed by the rugrat, I have others to choose from.

Would choose the tan as I have a couple of black bags already. Best bag I ever had was a Dooney and Bourke that I got for $5.00. Was volunteering for a local hospital's ladies auxilliary rummage sale and was there when the bag was brought in. Am not sure but don't think anyone there recognized it but I asked how much they wanted for it and could I buy it. Was prepared to go pretty high when the lady running the sale said that since I had volunteered so much of my time I could have it for $5.00. I was in 7th heaven then when I got it home felt guilty about gyping the auxullary I went back and offered them $50.00 for the bag but they wouldn't take it saying that was the name of the game. It is still the star in my handbag closet.
I would go for tan as I recently bought black. I am still collecting handbags, so I generally go with color.

My favorite handbag color is black as it goes with almost any color or grouping.
I carry too much in my bag and some of the items are small. I group them and put them in different pockets if they are available. If not, I carry ziploc or other sealing plastic bags so that I can easily find each group.

Here's a great tip: you can have the best of both worlds. Of course your should always carry handiwipes for accidents/spills, but be sure to carry assorted ziplock bags in your purse like I do. You can zip up any items (like that sippy cup) and know that if it does spill, it will stay in the plastic bag and not in your beautiful purse. And baggies don't take up much space! I do this with my luggage that I check when flying also. Ziplock bags have saved the day many times!!! :)
