Give Your Style A Boost - And Win!

As you all know by now, this past summer I made my foray into image consulting. I never knew what a wonderful journey I was embarking on! It has been such an amazing experience to work with women of all ages and help them refine their sense of style. What seems to come natural to me, after growing up in a style-conscious family and working in fashion for more than 20 years, is something that eludes many women and leaves them feeling frazzled and frumpy. It has been my pleasure to work with such amazing women, both one-on-one and through my workshops, to help them bring out their best selves and see their confidence build.

If you have never worked with an image consultant, and feel your style could use a boost, you should seriously consider it. Even in an uncertain economy, it helps to have the guidance of an image consultant to give you confidence in your look and save you time and money in the long run. Working with someone one-on-one can help you to really understand what colors and lines work best on you (and the WHYs behind it), and can save you from making costly wardrobe mistakes. We all have a lot of money invested in our wardrobes - why not ensure that you're buying the right items that fit and flatter your body and express your personal style?

What you wear tells the world who you are. What does your wardrobe say about you?

I'd like to offer two winners the opportunity to win a 1 hour style consultation ($125 value each). Two winners will be selected at random and you'll be asked to send me your pictures, as well as fill out a brief questionnaire to tell me a bit about yourself and your lifestyle. From there, I'll make wardrobe and style recommendations for you, and give you some suggestions for hair and makeup, incorporating current trends and discuss how to play up your best features.

To be entered, simply leave a comment here and tell me what you'd enjoy most about having an image consultation. The deadline is Midnight, EST, October 16, 2008. Please make sure you include your email. I will look forward to working with you!

I'd LOVE an image consultant. I'm a 42 YO SAHM who also does public speaking. I'm a slender "A" with cool summer coloring. I know I shouldn't wear black, but I tend to go back to it again and again. I don't know how to find stylish clothes in colors that fit with my palette, particularly in the fall/winter months. Thanks!

I need an image consultant really really badly! I am a 37 year old lady who manages a retail lumber yard and has the wardrobe of a high school sophomore. While most of my day is spent at the front counter or in the store with the customers, a few times a day I am climbing on a forklift out in the yard to load lumber, so a skirt and heels are not really an option. How can I dress like a grown up while still being able to climb and use a table saw?

oops! It's me. The lumbergirl again! I forgot to leave contact info!

when I was single, the way I dressed was more put-together and creative, but after reaching motherhood, I feel like my wardrobe is so blah and boring. I'd love to get advice on how to work my body type, skin tone, etc.

I'd love a consultation! I'm a working mom of 2 (3 and 8 months)and allthough most of the baby weight is gone, whatever is left seems to have been "redistributed", and not in a good way! I'd love some ideas on how to work with what I've got...

I could really use this help. Little by little, my appearance and wardrobe have been slipping. I don't think that I am projecting the image that I want other to see.

What an AMAZING prize opportunity. I can't even begin to share all of the reasons I'd appreciate this. Starting with the home I came out of, I never had a real sense of self, even style wise. After marriage and babies, I worked to regain my shape, but now after my third, I feel I've crossed a line age wise (now, suddenly 36!) and am not sure how that changes things. I don't want to be just "there" but to look confident and put together. I remember being embarrased that my mon didn't take care of herself when I was young. I know it is not all about appearance, but I want my girls to be proud and to somehow develop a better image of myself so that they can grow that in themselves. I struggle from top to bottom with self image - but thing with the right tips and expertise it would make an enormous difference. I would love this, and think it could improve my confidence, give me a direction to move towards, keep me away from the frumpiness, and realize that I don't always need to feel embarrased or ashamed about how I look for not knowing what to buy, what looks best on me or how to put it together. Help me learn and help my confidence grow! Thanks for the chance!

I've always been really shy and modest, and in the past wore clothes that were way to big for me. I'm finally starting to wear clothes that are the right size, but style does not come naturally to me. I would love to win this!

Renee said...

Oh man do I need this. I keep saying next ____ (fill in the month) I'm going to hire an image consultant and finally get some help. I'm a mom of two young girls (1 and 3) and a chef. I've never worked outside of a kitchen and never got into fashion at all. I went from spandex (figure skating) to chef's whites and never learned how to dress!I need serious help. I panic everytime there is a need to go out with friends or really dress up. I have no idea how to put clothes together and when I try to go shopping I find myself frustrated. I'm so tired of looking frumpy and slopyy. And that's even when I try really hard!

I would enjoy having someone finally teach me what to wear for my body and help me understand how to put things together on my own. I think it would give me such a boost of confidence.
Thanks!

This would be so much fun! I have been growing my hair out for three years now, so I'd love to know how to cut it and make it look cute! I'd also love to get some new outfit ideas, I feel like I do alright, but sometime I wonder if I'm dressing like a 16 year old!! Thanks for the great chance! Fingers crossed...

I've had low self-esteem my whole life when it comes to my appearance (It doesn't help that my younger sister has always been gorgeous and thin--the pretty social butterfly-while I have been the steady, practical intellectual). I just need a pick-me-up...someone to help me tweak things so I can project a bit more confidence.

This would be so much fun! I feel out of touch -- haven't gone shopping for myself in a while. I'm ready to build back my regular wardrobe! Thanks!

I think I have an idea as to the best way to dress, I have watched endless hours of "What not to wear" and I do get some compliments, but after suffering a recent back injury and putting on twenty pounds, my dress choices this past summer for three weddings left me feeling frumpy. There's always room for improvement.

I actually would love to win this one for my mom. She turned 50 this year and is absolutely beautiful. She sometimes makes less-than-flattering fashion choices. This would definitely take her to next level. I'd love to give this to her as a gift.

I am a working mom whose clothes do not work. I would rather do anything else than be stuck in a mall trying on clothes that are not flattering. I would love to be lucky enough to get your feedback. melanie_pa@yahoo.com

This is so fun! I would love to find things that complement my petite frame and help elongate my legs. I've never really learned what the basics of every woman's wardrobe should be and if I have any of them now, it's purely by accident. I'll be going back to work soon and I need to move out of the casual, stay at home mom look to a more sophisticated classy style.

I always feel like I slip back into clothes that are familiar and safe, even though I'm just bursting to be more stylish. I'm at SAHM, almost 40. Would love some ideas of how I can get out of my comfort zone and still feel confident in how I look. Thanks!!

Hi!
Who WOULDN'T want a little help to look better?! :)
I am suffering from the frumpy-mommy blues. I got stuck in a rut after my 2nd child - seems like it's so much easier to throw on sweats and an unflattering tee than it is to "get ready" everyday! Oh...and make-up? Who has time? I'm also back to work part-time (I'm a professional sign language interpreter).
I need to learn simple make up basics that don't take an hour and what colors/items look best on me - - I struggle with this daily! I can't seem to find clothes that are flattering for a 5ft (petite) 40-year old without breaking the bank. I used to love shopping....now I hate it b/c I just get frustrated! My kids are better dressed than me! EEK! Is it possible to go from frumpy to fabulous without going broke? Hope u can help!

My email address is: Ttrone@nc.rr.com

I am all over the place with my style. It would be nice to have someone teach me what works best for me, for what my goals are and what I want to impress upon others about me.

I am trying to get back into the Admin field and some of my "still in denial" clothes. lol
