LeapFrog TAG Makes Reading Fun

Do you read with your kids? We sure do, and have since they were in utero. Wanting them to learn the joys (as well as necessities) of reading, we have and continue to be avid readers with them. Now that my daughter is in kindergarten I can say that our time spent reading has paid off. She's reading at second grade level, taking an AG Poetry Class and has been known to curl up on the couch with her "Daring Book for Girls" or poetry by Carl Sandburg. Now we get to focus on reading with Dylan, who's just two but already loves his books.

LeapFrog also realizes the importance of reading with children starting at an early age. They have launched 1 Million Reading Hours in conjunction with the NEA's National Reading Month, to bring attention to literacy and to encourage families to make time to read together. Just log on, sign up and make a pledge to spend time reading with your child each day. Even as little as ten minutes can have an impact on their lives and make a difference for their future. By pledging to read with your child at least 10 minutes a day you can contribute to the national goal of 1 million reading hours committed, as well as reinforce the importance of shared reading time in your own family. All participants will receive special rewards and offers.

The LeapFrog® Tag Reading System is a wonderful way to introduce children ages 4-8 to reading and empowers them to read on their own. We gave my niece one for Christmas and included two of her favorite books, Kung Fu Panda and Chick-a Chick-a Boom Boom. Her birthday was in January and we added Olivia and The Little Engine that Could to her collection. My sister told me she couldn't wait to get started with them and now loves to spend time reading.

To help LeapFrog kick off their 1 million reading hours campaign, we're giving away a LeapFrog® Tag Reading System, along with 5 books for personal use and 10 books donated to your local library. To enter, leave us a comment and let us know how much time you've pledged in the 1 Million Reading Hours campaign. The deadline is March 31, 2009.

Hey Michelle,

I couldn't figure out how to email you, so I'm leaving a comment. It's nice to see such an informative, personal blog and an incredible resource! I was wondering,
would your blog be willing to cover some great makeup for fashionable moms?

I ask because I work for Marketingworks on behalf of Maybelline and am allowed to distribute free samples
of Maybelline's Lash Stiletto Mascara for your review. (Hey, in this economy we can all use free
mascara, and maybe if you like it you can end up blogging about it or tell
other moms!) Honestly, I think the mascara is beautiful, and I'm always looking for cost effective yet glamourous beauty solutions.
I love that Stiletto is a perfect combination of being natural and powerful (dark -- very sexy, creates incredble length, and it's not clumpy)
Also it's priced really well (between $7-$9).

In any event, very happy I discovered your blog! Hit me back if you would
like a free sample of Maybelline's Stiletto Mascara. Hope to hear from you
and I look forward to keep on reading!

Cheers,
Keaton

well. wiah more parents would take an instrest in their childrens education, I'd know from experience, I'd didn't learn to read till I'd was in 10th grade in special school just for people like me, far far away from my family and friends, in 3 yrs I'd finially graduated out of that special school, and I'm a lover of books, and helping others to learn to read, my kids all are excellent readers, and grand children are learning fast~ great contests guys thanks, from the bottom of our hearts~
