Get Your Teens in the Kitchen
Sometimes it may seem like a monumental feat to get teens into the kitchen to help prepare a meal that's both healthy and tasty (I'm not talking microwave mac and cheese here). But give them a little nudge from British teen sensation Sam Stern and they just may surprise you!
Since publishing his first cookbook at the age of 14, Sam's 4th book is just out. Sam Stern's Get Cooking is a great inspiration to teen chefs, helping them whip up tasty treats to please themselves, their families, and, as Sam likes to put it, their mates. When they find something they love, they can go to his website and even text a recipe to a friend. With an approachable manner that teens can relate to Sam includes recipes that are delicious and run the gamut from simple comfort food (yes, it includes mac and cheese) to fancier takes on dishes that will make mom proud. His techniques keep it easy - just watch his videos if you need to see how something works - and make it fun. Sam Stern's Get Cooking is also chock full of tips that are educational as well as delicious. His "Why not?" blurbs offer tasty suggestions for additions to make your dish really sing.
With a look that's handsome and approachable (not to mention great hair!) Sam Stern may be just what your teens need to give the drive-thru a break and whip up something on their own in the kitchen. Loved by chef Jamie Oliver, Sam Stern offers up a fresh take that makes food fun for teens - as well as their parents!
