A Bra to Remember

Lately it seems that I've had more conversations about bras than I can remember. I think in my line of work the topic comes up often because I always recommend to my clients that they have a bra fitting. But what I've found has been eye-opening. I've heard from many clients and friends alike how disappointed they've been with many of their not-inexpensive bras, and how bras don't seem to hold up or wear nearly as well as they used to. So I've been paying close attention to bras and trying to discern which ones make the cut.

Well the Playtex Secrets® Cotton Shaping Underwire bra certainly got my attention, and for all the right reasons. First, this bra comes in some wonderful colors and prints that appeal to my whimsical nature. But honestly, that only gets a bra so far. What really got me is the comfort and the full-coverage. After having 2 kids, I'm a bit more full-figured than I used to be, and spillage is not good. This bra offers seamless, full coverage that leaves me feeling confident that there won't be any strange bulges or ill-timed wardrobe malfunctions. That alone is priceless!

But wait, there's more! This bra is lightly padded cotton, so it moves and breathes. It works perfectly under a tee shirt, but does just as well under business attire and no one is the wiser. All I know is that I feel comfortable and supported, while sporting a sassy bra that is my own little secret.

Win one for yourself!
We're giving away one Playtex Secrets® Cotton Shaping Underwire in the style and size of your choosing. To enter, simply post a comment here and tell us what you love/hate about bras. The biggest challenge for me is usually finding a good strapless bra. You taught me the importance to get the girls fit right! I would also say it is challenging to find ones that do the job & are comfortable!

SO not interested in thick padding that makes me feel like I'm wearing a flotation device! Why do manufacturers think I want to be pushed up, padded and spilling out, anyway?

Wow, Sandra, thanks for sharing. This is quite eye-opening, not to mention saddening from many levels. It has given me inspiration for an upcoming article on my other blog, www.iambeautifulproject.wordpress.com. Thanks!

I agree about finding one without padding. A: I'm ample enough. and B: the padding is for "discretion"? hmmm... No thank you. :)
My biggest challenge is a mix of not wanting padding, finding PRETTY bras in my size (who said B-cup girls are the only ones who get to be sassy??), and having good side-support. I've learned from a great-fitting bra (I need to figure out who makes it) that nice side-support was SUPER flattering. I looked more slender from face-on.

The biggest challenge for me is that most stores don't carry my size--I have a narrow chest, but am amply blessed with a lot of breast. I want something supportive that is pretty and has some style. Stores say they have other sizes online, but it's really hard to buy a bra you can't try on because there are so many fit factors. Nordstroms seems to have the best in store options I've found so far.
